Shangri La Jade Marble
Shangri La is a fictitious place name in the novel "The Lost Horizon" published by English novelist James Hilton. It is described in the book that Shangri La is an idyllic land, located in a mysterious and peaceful valley at the western end of the Himalayas. The local residents believe in various religious beliefs and coexist peacefully. The local Tibetan Buddhism will take care of the whole Shangri La. In western culture, Shangri La usually means an ideal country with oriental mystery.
Hunza Valley in Pakistan controlled Kashmir in northern Pakistan, close to the border of the People's Republic of China, is believed to be the prototype of Shangri La. Hilton visited the site a few years before the publication of The Lost Horizon. The local environment is quite consistent with the description in the book, and it is also the only place Hilton has ever visited and claimed to be "Shangri La".
